MS/HS Announcements
1. The Student Council is sponsoring Silence is Golden for 9-12 students. The boys will have hearts on Wednesday. If a boy talks to a girl, he has to give his heart to her. The girls will have hearts on Thursday.
2. For the 100th day of school on Monday, February 16th, NHS is collecting 100 (or more) items for the Backpack Program. Suggested items: Tuna packets, Easy Mac, SpaghettiOs, Ravioli, fruit cups, breakfast/granola bars, Ramen noodles, pudding or Jello cups, jar of peanut butter, individually packaged snack items (pretzels, trail mix, crackers). Items can be dropped off in Mrs. Bolie's classroom anytime from now through Monday. The class who donates the most items will receive a pizza party. One winner in each group: ELEM, MS, HS.
3. NHS meetings at GT, Monday through Wednesday (2/9-2/11).
4. Parent-teacher conferences are on Thursday, February 12th from 3-7 pm. There is an early release at 1:45pm that day as well.
5. Seniors are selling Valentine's Day Flowers from now until Feb. 12th. Flowers will be delivered to classes during Green Time on Feb. 12th or will be available for pick up after school. Cost: $2 per stem. See the seniors or Mrs. Christensen to purchase.
6. Be a hero! Donate blood at the blood drive in Burke, February 17th from 12:00 - 5:30 pm at the Civic Center. If you donate 3 times while in high school, you can wear a cord at graduation.
7. There is a sign-up sheet in the office for Winner High School softball for all girls grades 7-12 that are interested. Deadline to sign up is March 12th with the first practice being March 16th.
8. Boys and Girls State for junior students are coming up this summer. Girls’ applications are due February 15th and are paper applications. Boys’ applications are online and due May 1st. Don’t wait until the last minute and apply right away. Girls’ is from May 24-28 at USD and boys’ is from May 25-29 at NSU.
9. Music is selling chocolate; see a choir or band student to purchase. The price ranges from $1 - $3 per item.
