MS/HS Announcements
1. The Student Council will meet during green time on Tuesday, October 21st, in the computer lab.
2. FAFSA meeting on Wednesday, October 22nd at 6 pm in the science lab for all seniors and their parents.
3. Jostens is meeting with seniors (cap and gown) and sophomores (rings) at 10:45 am on Thursday, October 23rd.
4. There is an early release this Thursday, October 23 at 1:45 pm for teacher in-service.
5. Juniors are having a Dimock Cheese Fundraiser from Oct 20 to Nov 8. It will be delivered the week of November 17th. Contact a junior or Mr. Juracek if you would like to order.
6. Red Ribbon Week: Oct 27-30: Monday (27): Wear red, “Raise awareness and show support for living a drug free life.”, Tuesday (28): Wear Leis, “Lei off drugs.” Wednesday (29): Wear your favorite team shirt, “Team up against drugs.”, Thursday (30): Wear a Halloween Costume. “I’m not scared to Just Say No.”
7. It's time to sign up for Scrubs Camp. Scrubs Camp will be held on Wednesday November 12th in Winner from 9:30-2:30. Scrubs Camp is a one-day event for students in grades 9-12 interested in learning about individual career paths and hands-on experiences in the medical field. The event is limited to 40 students, so pre-registration is required with an application deadline by October 23rd. See Mr. Norton to get an application!
8. Music Happenings for the next 2 months!! Braxton Heath, Makayla Chambers, Bode Kingsley, and Devon Paulson will be heading to Sioux Falls to participate in All State Choir at the end of the month. The Final Concert will be at 6:00pm on Nov. 1 and will be televised on the SDPB. Congratulations and make sure you are memorizing your music. We are going next Tuesday, October 21 to Mitchell for a practice day from 8:00-2:00. We will be leaving school by 5:45am.
9. Congratulations to the following festival participants: Augustana Band Festival: Gracie Rohde, Ben Vandenbark, Wyatt Winfield, and Emme Nelsen will be Nov. 7 & 8. JH Festival held in Platte on November 18 with a concert at 2:00. Participants will be: Choir-Braxton Heath, Band- Abraham Yeary, Wyatt DeBoer, and Devon Paulson. HS
Festival held in Gregory on November 22 with a concert at 6:30 in the Auditorium. Participants are: Choir-Aleah Musser, Makayla Chambers, Anika Musser, Sam Brandsgaard, and Bode Kingsley, Band- Ben Vandenbark, Gracie Rohde, Emme Nelsen, and Wyatt Winfield.
10. Trunk or Treat at the Colome School is October 30th at 3 pm. If you would like to sign up and hand out treats, contact Danielle Cahoy at 308-223-9507.
11. Fall Carnival – November 8th from 3:00-5:30 pm. There will be games, food and fun. Come and have a blast, eat and win some prizes. Students earn tickets for activities through daily school attendance.
12. The free application for SD colleges and universities is from Oct 1st -Nov 30th.
13. Christmas Concert-Tuesday, December 9 at 7:00. Cookie social after so please bring a plate of goodies to share!!
