MS/HS Announcements

1. Emails with links have been sent and school pictures are available to order online. If you have not received an email, please contact the office.

2. No JH practice at all this Friday, both VB and FB.

3. There IS school this Friday, with an early release after the parade. Buses will leave the school at 12:40, meeting at Buches ACE at 1:00pm. If you are picking your child up after the parade, you can do so at Sportsman’s Lodge or at the school.

4. Homecoming Spirit Events:

a. Friday: Gorillas vs Buffaloes – Come decked out in your red and white to show your support for our Gorillas.

a. Cowboys Olympics – Friday Oct 2 - @ 8:10am in the Colome Gym.

b. Parade - Friday @ 12pm.

6. Tuesday, October 6th - NHS Meeting @ GT.

7. Wednesday, Oct 7th - All State Choir workshop at USD.

8. Each Fall SD colleges have a free college application period. This year is October 1- November 30. The Free College Application Period is a great opportunity to explore your options and take the next step toward your future. There are 2 ways to apply, either see Mr. Norton for details and a link, or apply directly from each school's website. The sooner the better!

9. Attention Juniors and Seniors, you can be a Page in the upcoming SD legislature! Juniors and Seniors from across South Dakota have a hands-on behind the scenes look at the legislative process of how the legislative session works! Pages will be selected for four to nine days to serve. It is a competitive program, so early application is encouraged.

The preferred application deadline is Friday, October 2, 2026. See Mr. Norton for details & an application.

10. BE A HERO! Burke has a blood drive on October 13 from 12-5:30pm at the Civic Center. If you are at least 16 years old and would like to donate, the office has your parental release forms. Donating 3 times while in high school, you can wear a red cord at graduation.
